Thursday, December 27:  Kadomatsu Making & Mochi Pounding.  For centuries, New Years is considered to be the most celebrated custom in Japan. Let your inner rhythm be set free during mochitsuki (rice pounding) and practice centering and a bit of visual poetry while making a kadomatsu (gate pine) for your home. Taste a variety of ways that you can enjoy consuming the 'rice spirit' for purity, strength and spiritual wealth as you bring in the New Year with old traditions…

February 12, 2020 - March 20, 2020: Exhibit: NIUHI-SHARK: Honoring Kamehameha the Great in Paint and Prose.  The Donkey Mill Art Center is honored to present NIUHI-SHARK: Honoring Kamehameha The Great in Paint & Prose featuring original paintings created by Carl F. K. Pao paired with selections from the book Kamehameha–The Rise of a King by Kāwika Eyre with illustrations by Brook Parker. The exhibit was created in 2019 in commemoration of the 200th anniversary of King Kamehameha’s passing in West Hawai`i.
