Tropical Horticulture Garden Work Day

Kauai

September 02, 2019:
Tropical Horticulture Garden Work Day. The National Tropical Botanical Garden on the South Shore of Kauai is seeking environmental & conservation-minded volunteers to aid in the care and maintenance of our unique living collections.
We offer service options for visiting volunteers in McBryde Garden, which is a veritable botanical ark of tropical flora and home to the largest ex-situ collection of native Hawaiian flora in existence. Submerge yourself in the tropical flora of the vast McBryde Garden as an assistant to our Horticulture staff.
McBryde Garden volunteers experience an adventure under a canopy of tropical plants. If you’re seeking full exposure with nature, while performing light to moderate physical activity, you’re a great fit.
Under the heat of the sun, or the misting light rain, you may be helping maintain one of several trails, exhibit beds, removing weeds, raking, or participate in a mulching day!
Service tasks vary with weather and plant growth. This assignment is perfect for the volunteer who is flexible and willing to help where needed.
Please come prepared for the elements, and bring a refillable water bottle and snacks or lunch. Closed-toe shoes are required (covered shoes – such as a tennis shoe or hiking boot, no strap sandals).
Email volunteer@ntbg.org Telephone 808-762-1417 or Register online by following this link: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1106468613
Visiting volunteers or ‘1 time’ volunteers are welcome! 3-4 hour minimum commitment
Volunteers for McBryde Garden will drive to NTBG Headquarters located at 3530 Papalina Road in Kalaheo.
