The Pirates of Penzance

Oahu

Wednesday, November 5:
The Pirates of Penzance. Hawai`i Opera Theatre’s Opera Express returns to the Hawai`i Theatre stage with Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic comic operetta The Pirates Of Penzance. Comic mayhem ensues when a rollicking band of pirates plots to keep young Frederick from leaving their employ. Mistakenly apprenticed as a child by a deaf nursemaid, Frederick was to be freed on his 21st birthday, but alas, born on February 29–technically he’s only 5. Sparkling melodies and witty banter make this child-friendly interactive adaptation a delight. Hawai`i Theatre Center, 1130 Bethel St., Honolulu. 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $2-$7. For tickets and information call 808-528-5535 or visit www.hawaiitheatre.com.
