Mitsubishi Electric PGA Champions Tour at Hualalai

Big Island

Wednesday thru Sunday, January 15 – 19:
Mitsubishi Electric PGA Champions Tour at Hualalai.  Now in its 16th year, this annual golf event is the first match of the year on the PGA Champions Tour. It features 36 – 40 top golfers 50 years or older who have won Champions Tour or other PGA majors or money events in a 54-hole competition for a total purse of nearly $2 million.  John Cook is the defending champion. This event offers a rare opportunity to see top-quality and renowned golfers up close, with minimal crowds, in an unparalleled setting. Hualalai Resort’s golf course is generally not accessible to the public. This is a chance to see great golf in a beautiful setting that combines spectacular ocean and mountain views with delightful weather at a time when other parts of the country may be pretty cold!  8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Four Seasons Hualalai Resort Golf Club, 100 Kaupulehu Drive, Kailua-Kona.  For information call (808) 325-8400 or visit www.hualalairesort.com. Also visit with Emily T. Gail on www.espnhawaii.com for some “talk story” with players, their families and more.
