Maui

February 07, 2020 – February 08, 2020:
Eric Gilliom One-Man Show – White Hawaiian.
Eric Gilliom stars in an original one-man theatrical show, “White Hawaiian,” co-created by writer/director Brian Kohne (Kuleana). This one man show represents the first collaboration between the pair since “Get A Job,” an award-winning comedy produced entirely on Maui in 2010. Music lovers may remember their previous work as co-producers of the Barefoot Natives with Uncle Willie K, which resulted in two award-winning CDs and hysterical sold-out shows in the islands and beyond. Eric Gilliom explores identity through the lens of Hawaiian history, contemporary culture, and family, and this is certainly one show you do not want to miss! Maui’s Eric Gilliom is a recording artist and star of stage and screen, having appeared in movies, TV, on Broadway, and in concert venues throughout the country. He’s performed alongside legends including Willie K, Mick Fleetwood, and Jamie Foxx, and descends from a family of entertainers. “White Hawaiian” is an original one-man show co-written by long-time collaborator Brian Kohne (Kuleana, Get A Job), and promises to be an evening of storytelling and hysterics audiences will not soon forget. Maui

February 05, 2020:
Jazz at The Shops at Wailea with Angela and Phil Benoit.
The Shops at Wailea welcomes back Maui’s own Angela and Phil Benoit to Jazz at The Shops on Wednesday, February 5. The talented jazz duo will perform a free concert in the upper level luxury wing at The Shops at Wailea from 5:30 to 7pm, benefiting the Maui Food Innovation Center. Born in Paia, Angela Benoit has been singing all of her life and has performed professionally for over 20 years. Phil Benoit, a self-taught guitarist who moved to Hawaii in the late ’70’s, has also been performing for over two decades. Together, they have produced four Eps, including the late 2019 release “All Caught Up In You.” They also head up the Maui-based jazz group “Benoit Jazzworks,” playing their original music together in addition to jazz standards, bossa nova, pop and Hawaiian swing. The duo spreads their music across the islands and the world by performing in clubs, concert venues, private house concerts and more all over Hawaii, and touring the west coast annually. In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui non-profit each month with a portion of the special event parking fees going to the selected charity.
