Lahaina Whale and Ocean Arts Festival.  Lahaina celebrates the annual migration of Pacific Humpback whales with ocean arts festivities. Thursday and Friday evenings (7 to 9pm) feature marine biologist educational presentations and videos in Campbell Park, located next to The Wharf Cinema Center. On Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 5pm in Banyan Tree Park, artists display their best marine-themed art for sale, while Hawaiian musicians and hula troupes entertain. Enjoy a kids ocean art contest, whale photo displays, and a Creature Feature touch pool exhibit by Maui Ocean Center. Free admission. Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert

Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert.  Host and slack key guitar master George Kahumoku, Jr. is joined by renowned slack key masters who are true ambassadors of their music, their culture and their land for an evening of traditional Hawaiian songs and authentic “talk-story”. Jake Shimabukuro.  Jake is renowned the world over for lightning-fast fingers and revolutionary playing techniques on Hawai‘i’s signature instrument, the ‘ukulele. Shimabukuro’s shows with his band dazzle audiences with intricate strumming and plucking, electrifying high-energy grooves and deeply felt melodic ballads. He’s on a mission: to show everyone that the ‘ukulele is capable of so much more than traditional Hawaiian music. Stargazing Cruises: Moon, Stars and the Whales.  Pacific Whale Foundation’s stargazing cruise introduces you to Maui’s enchanting sky in a most spectacular setting — a tropical evening on the beautiful Pacific Ocean off the coast of Lahaina. Listen to the haunting and mysterious songs of humpback whales in the ocean around you – or maybe view a surfacing whale by moon or starlight!  Narrated by special guest Harriett Witt, an international award winning astronomy writer and speaker, known for her entertaining and informative commentary on the stars. An American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, CAKE is comprised of lead singer John McCrea, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, guitarist Xan McCurdy, bassist Gabe Nelson and drummer Paulo Baldi. The band is noted for McCrea’s sarcastic lyrics and deadpan voice, DiFiore’s trumpet parts and a wide range of musical influences, including country, rock, funk, mariachi, Iranian folk and hip-hop. Opening Night Party at the Maui Crafts Guild

You are invited to an opening night party at the Maui Crafts Guild (69 Hana Highway) in Paia for featured ceramic and mask artist Tracy Lamon and contemporary abstract artist Diane LaFontaine.
