kauai’s Big Brother’s Big Sister’s 3rd Annual “Totally Awesome 80’s”

Big Brother’s Big Sister’s 3rd Annual “Totally Awesome 80’s”.  Bowl For Kid’s Sake (BFKS) has become an important annual fundraiser for Kauai Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2011, this event raised over $21,000 to support one-to-one yout mentoring programs. Entertainment, food from Mark’s Place/ Contemporary Flavors Catering, Signature  “Totally Awesome 80’s” T-shirts, Bowling, Prize Drawing and fun for the community! Art Night Hanapepe. Every Friday evening, Old Town Hanapepe is bustling with fun & activity ! Stroll through the many art galleries in historic Hanapepe and meet the local artists from 6- 9pm. Friday & Saturday, February 24 & 25:
Waimea Mill Site Activities. Island entertainment with loads of food, craft & game booths, beer garden, contests and lots of sporting events. At the Old Waimea Sugar Mill, the fun starts on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 10 a.m. Free entertainment until 11:30 p.m., both nights. Saturday events include a fun run, canoe race, rodeo, ukulele contest, ice cream eating contest. Lei contest and cultural demonstrations at the West Kaua’i Visitor Center Friday & Saturday. 12th Annual Waimea Round-Up Rodeo

Friday – Sunday, February 24 – 26:
12th Annual Waimea Round-Up Rodeo. Events take place behind the old Waimea Dairy (between Waimea & Kekaha, look for signs off the highway). Saturday Grand entry and flag ceremony with recognition of the Hall of Fame Cowboys starts at noon. Refreshments available. Bring sunscreens, hats and enjoy the family fun for the afternoon. Kilohana Long Distance Canoe Race

Kauai

Saturday, February 18:
Kilohana Long Distance Canoe Race. Traditional Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Racing along the Waimea shoreline. One of the signature events of the Waimea Town Celebration and the first event of the Garden Island Canoe Racing Association season. Start times for the races are 9a.m. for women, 10:30 a.m. for men. Finished around 11:30. Visible from the shore at Waimea near the Pier. Race course determined by ocean conditions that morning. Free for spectators.

Eat Dessert First. Don’t miss the 19th annual event held on Valentine’s Day, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Courtyard by Marriott Kauai at Coconut Beach in Wailua.
