Hula Arts At Kilauea: Hula Kahiko.
VAC’s Hula Kahiko series continues, Saturday 10:30-11:00 AM. The performance takes place on the kahua hula (hula platform) located near the Volcano Art Center Gallery in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The performance will take place in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (hula platform) in the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mats. This presentation is free and open to the public and will be presented authentically in an outdoor setting, rain or shine without electronic amplification. National Park entrance fees may apply. These free events are supported in part by Hawaii Tourism through the Community Enrichment Program.

Maui Calls 2019 Annual Gala Fundraiser Celebrating the Tradition of the Hukilau. Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s signature gala event begins with a fresh flower lei greeting and Hawaiian music serenade featuring the Hula Honeys. Mix, mingle, and taste delectable pūpū created by chefs from stellar Maui restaurants and specialty food purveyors.
  Enjoy premium wines served by vintners from boutique wineries around the world and dance the night away to live music. Silent and live auctions offer the chance to bid on hundreds of items, from fabulous Hawaii staycations to “uniquely Maui” items, such as special house parties and “uniquely MACC” items, like autographed music instruments & more!

Picnic on the Pier. Beat the end-of-summer blues! Join us again at our very last “Picnic on the Pier” 2019 Summer Series at the Battleship Missouri Memorial on Friday, August 16 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Pier Foxtrot-5 at Pearl Harbor.
The event includes prize giveaways, keiki (children) activities, free tours of the Mighty Mo (valued at $29 for adults), and live entertainment. BYOFD (Bring Your Own Food & Drink) to the event. Grills, tables, tents, umbrellas, glassware and glass bottles are prohibited. Food and craft beverages are also available for purchase from Tin Hut BBQ, Guadalajara Tacos, The Streetz food trucks, Jamba Juice, a pop-up beer tent and a Dole whip and shave-ice pop up tent.
Pre-sale tickets can be purchased online and are $10 for adults ($15 day of) and $5 for keiki (children) ages 4-12 ($10 day of). Tables with premium front views of the harbor are for sale at $150. This package accommodates admission for 8 and includes exclusive Mighty Mo swag. For those without base access, a complimentary shuttle will be available from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. Pets are not permitted.

Our fair features floral and cooking demonstrations, hula halau exhibition, petting zoo, carnival, great island food and much more! This is a community wide event with a focus on agriculture, with overall proceeds going to the Kauai County Farm Bureau, and program proceeds going to 4-H and other agricultural commodity and hobbyist groups growing everything from tropical flowers, to orchids, taro and bonsai. Paul Simon. During his distinguished career, Paul Simon has been the recipient of many honors and awards—including 12 Grammy Awards, three of which (“Bridge over Troubled Water,” “Still Crazy after All These Years,” and “Graceland”) were Albums of the Year. In 2003, he was given a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award for his work as half of the duo Simon and Garfunkel. He is a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame and is in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, both as a solo artist and as Simon and Garfunkel.
