A hometown celebration with entertainment, hula performance, onolicious food, keiki activities, Tutu Flea Market, craft vendors, community information booths, cheerleading clinic and fun activities for the whole family.   Kapa`a Town goes all out for its First Saturday of every month Art Walk. The main street is lined with vendors selling Kaua`i Arts and crafts, with some of Kaua`i’s best musicians and bands playing up and down the street. There are lots of shops and restaurants to choose from.  It’s great fun for the whole family and a great way to see Kaua`i life, whether you are a visitor or resident.  Kapa`a Town. 5 to 9 p.m.  Free.

  Brother Noland has deeply influenced contemporary Hawaiian music and is widely considered as the “Father of Jawaiian Music.” Fluid in both slack key and standard guitar tunings, Brother Noland goes wherever the music carries him. Brother Noland is popular for his unique interpretations of songs, yet remains respectful of traditional Hawaiian music and culture. Noland is most famous for his original song, “Coconut Girl,” which birthed the “Jawaiian” contemporary style music. He has won numerous Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards, including Best Reggae Album, and his music is featured in several movies, including “Pineapple Express” and “Snakes on a Plane.” He is regularly featured in Slack Key Guitar festivals around the islands. Chinese Kite Festival & Kite Flying

Chinese Kite Festival & Kite Flying.
  Celebrate the wide world of kites and national kite month in Lahaina during this annual family fun event! On Friday at Wo Hing Museum & Cookhouse, 858 Front Street, Lahaina, check out displays of ancient and modern kites from around the world; kites are available for purchase. Enjoy presentations on Ancient Chinese Kites and Sport Kites, then join a community kite making project. There are hands-on craft activities for kids, and Chinese food available for sale.  Go fly a kite on Saturday at an open space park on Honoapi‘ilani Hwy. Kids and teens can make free-form kite structures. At 11 a.m., the community’s Chinese serpent kite will take to the air in a kite flying demo. Colorful kites in all shapes will be flying high.
