Maui Humane Society’s Beach Buddies Visitor Program

Maui Humane Society’s Beach Buddies Visitor Program.
Do you miss having a dog to spend your day with? Visitors and residents can sign up to take a homeless dog out for the day from the Maui Humane Society animal shelter. The shelter is easy to find as it is conveniently located in Pu`unene (central Maui) on Mokulele Hwy., between Kihei/Wailea and Kahului. Program participants will pick “their dog” up at 10 a.m. and bring them back no later than 3 p.m. MHS provides all of the supplies, you just provide the fun! Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert

Grammy Winner Kalani Pe`a Performs Live at QKC’s “Let it Snow!”
  Snowflakes will descend on Queen Ka`ahumanu Center’s center court as Pe`a sings his original compositions, classics and debuts his new holiday song to the community and visitors. Realistic snowfall effect is created with millions of snow-like “bubbles” that look and act like real snow in every way transforming QKC’s center court into a giant snow globe. Each snowfall show lasts for approximately ten minutes and early arrivals receive free Starbucks hot chocolate. Niaulani Nature Walk

Niaulani Nature Walk.
  A free, guided rain forest tour in Volcano. This one-hour nature walk travels through a lush portion of an old-growth Hawaiian rain forest on an easy, 1/7-mile loop trail. The walk introduces visitors to the native plants and birds of Volcano. Guides focus on the biological, ecological, and geological features of the area, and the cultural usages of flora and fauna by native Hawaiians.   Take a 3 hour walk back through time in the place where Captain Cook first landed in Waimea.  Learn about the last King of Kaua`i, the missionaries, and other famous citizens of Waimea and the landmarks they left behind.
