Kaua`i Hospice Concert in the Sky

Kaua`i Hospice Concert in the Sky.
  Featuring 3D fireworks at 8:30 p.m. choreographed to a 20-minute soundtrack. Enjoy local entertainment by local performers, with Kapena headlining the event. Come early for keiki games, water slides, bounce houses and more. Amazing food options are available at affordable family prices, plus a silent auction, crafts and a keiki novelty tent. Vidinha Stadium, Ho`olako St., Lihue. 4 to 9:30 p.m.  Admission tickets are available at all Kaua`i Times/Big Save Markets, as well as the Kaua`i Hospice office. Advanced Ticket Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for keiki (6-12), keiki 5 and younger free. At the gate it will be $15 for adults and $7 for keiki (6-12),  Keiki 5 and younger free.

Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade & Fireworks Extravaganza

Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade & Fireworks Extravaganza.
  Parade starts at 6 p.m. at the Kekua`okalani Gym/Pool Complex, the parade will proceed south on Kuakini Highway to Palani Road, on to Ali`i Drive, and then south on Ali`i Drive to Walua Road, just past Coconut Grove Marketplace. Entries include neighborhood and community groups, nonprofit or commercial entries along with musical entries and floats of all kinds, multiple color guards and numerous members of the armed services as part of the parade.  Following the parade, there will be a Fireworks Extravaganza over Kailua Bay, starting at 8:00 p.m. For more information visit www.paradesinkona.com.

  The beach town of Kailua celebrates its 4th of July festivities by hosting a crackling display of fireworks at Kailua Beach Park. This year, attendees can also look forward to a pre-fireworks acrobatic air show with the Flying Leathernecks at 6 p.m., followed by the Marine Corps Forces Pacific Band performing at 6:30 p.m. (Fireworks begin at 8 p.m.).   The parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the Volcano Post Office and proceed for one half mile along Old Volcano Road to Cooper Community Center.   Following the parade will be a silent auction benefit at the Cooper Center, 19-4030 Wright Rd., Volcano Village.
