The Flying Dutchman. For more than 150 years, Richard Wagner’s famed opera, The Flying Dutchman, has been captivating audiences across the world.  Set along the Norwegian coast, legends tell of a ghost ship, The Flying Dutchman, captained by a man simply known as the Dutchman, who is cursed to wander the sea.  His only chance at redemption comes every seven years.  If the Dutchman can find a wife that will be true to him, he’ll be set free of his curse. Marine Corps Base Hawai`i Swamp Romp 2015. Join Marine Corps Community Services in kicking off the first running race of the 2015 Commanding Officer’s Semper Fit Race Series. This challenging 5K run will start and finish at Dewey Square on MCB Hawai`i Kaneohe Bay. The run goes up to the Officers’ Club providing a beautiful scenic view of Kailua Bay and Pyramid Rock, before the main challenge of a steep uphill run that goes up to the famous Kansas Tower providing a breathtaking view of Kaneohe Bay.
