Presented by The Palace Theater and The 6th Annual Hawai`i Burlesque Festival, enjoy an evening of celebration with crazy songs, exotic dance, female impersonation, aerial artistry, live organ music, risqué striptease and more. Headlining the event will be RedBone, “The Cyclone of Burlesque” with special guest Violetta Beretta, Hawai`i’s Burlesque Sweetheart.  Also featuring talented local professionals of theater, dance, burlesque and circus.  This show is for ages 18 and over only. Kū Mai Ka Hula

Friday & Saturday, September 8 & 9:
Kū Mai Ka Hula.
Featuring award-winning hālau competing in solo and group performances, invitees including hālau from Japan and the U.S. Mainland, as well as Maui, and Oahu.  Male and female dancers perform both kahiko (traditional) and `auana (modern) hula stylings.  The solo competition will take place Friday evening and the group competition and awards ceremony will be Saturday afternoon.  On Saturday, there will be a performance in the Yokouchi Pavilion by the Napili Kai Foundation, Kumu Hula Holoau Ralar, 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Attendees can browse and shop displays of made-in-Hawai`i products from an array of crafters and artisans before and throughout the Friday and Saturday performances. Laugh until your sides ache, with one of Hawai`i’s favorite comedians.  Augie T was named funniest comic in Hawai`i by the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Midweek.  His work has been recognized as best comedy show by Honolulu Magazine, topped the DVD sales charge, and won two Hawai`i Music Awards and two Na Hoku Hanahano awards.   The opening act will be musician and songwriter Shawn Garnett (best known as Hawai`i Five-O’s Cousin Flippa).
