Enjoy a fun and relaxing day with home grown live music, hands-on activities, and local artisans and crafts. Island chefs and food vendors will offer amazing food inspired by the summer mango harvest. There will be a recipe contest and biggest mango contest, plus cultural and educational displays. Bring a beach blanket or chair and enjoy the entire day at Waipa, along Hanalei Bay (just a half mile past town). Admission $10 for adults and $1 for keiki (ages 0-17). Cooking on Maui with Chef Lee: “Seafood with Style”. 
Fish is fast-cooking and healthy.   Hawai`i has some of the best fish in the world. Enjoy what our local oceans have.  The ocean-centric meal made during this cooking class will leave you with a newfound love for fish and shellfish.  You will learn seafood cooking techniques from Chef Lee Anderson that you can easily recreate in your home. Carl Anderson will make some cocktails that will pair perfectly with the delicate texture of the seafood.   MENU: Olive oil poached fresh catch with lemon and capers, Seared scallops. Shrimp cocktail with spicy horseradish sauce, Shrimp with Mango and Lime, Spice-Rubbed Tuna with Remoulade, Scallop Ceviche, Miso Marinated Walu, Steamed Mussels with Thai Coconut-Curry Broth, Shrimp and Grits, Blackened Salmon Miso and Ginger Roasted Salmon, Sesame-Crusted Tuna with Mango Salsa.  Reservations Required, $95 per person.  Must be 21 or older to attend.  Please note: participants will be working in a commercial kitchen with knives, safety is the primary concern. 17th Annual Pilgrimage of Compassion
. Celebrate the timeless spiritual vision of a valley long recognized as a healing sanctuary. Grandmaster Riley Lee, world-renowned shakuhachi flutist, will issue a call to the pilgrims of the world. The members of Taiko Kaua`i will add their drumbeats to open the event. There will also be a bonsai exhibit, ikebana and calligraphy demos, bake sale, silent auction, as well as mochi and taro pounding, cultural and culinary demonstrations. Please bring an umbrella and wear comfortable shoes for this hillside walk. Lawai International Center, 3381 Wawae Rd., Kalaheo. 1 to 4 p.m. Gates open at 1 p.m., with demonstrations and exhibits open. Na Pali Challenge

Na Pali Challenge.
Each year paddlers from the Hawaiian Islands and abroad gather on Kaua’i for this unique race. It is an opportunity for wahine (women) and kane (men) to come together and race down the enchanting Na Pali Coast. Each team consists of 6 wahine and 6 kane. The two teams take turns in the canoe, making water changes every 30 minutes. The race begins at Hanalei Bay and will end outside Kikiaola Small Boat Harbor. The course is 36 miles long and runs along some of the most beautiful coastline in the world.
