Do you miss having a dog to spend your day with? Visitors and residents can sign up to take a homeless dog out for the day from the Maui Humane Society animal shelter. The shelter is easy to find as it is conveniently located in Pu`unene (central Maui) on Mokulele Hwy between Kihei/Wailea and Kahului. Program participants will pick “their dog” up at 10 a.m. and bring them back no later than 3 p.m. MHS provides all of the supplies, you just provide the fun! Lights on Rice Street Parade and Christmas Craft Fair.
Fun Parade with the community lighting up themselves or their vehicles to celebrate the arrival of the Holiday Season. Parade starts when the Festival of Lights (at the Historic County Building) lights up at 6 p.m. Parade route begins at the Vidinha Stadium and travels up Rice Street to the Historic County Building. There is also a craft fair at the Kaua`i Museum that lasts all day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. with food vendors; the museum will be open 10 a.m to 4 p.m.  The Kaua`i Museum, 4428 Rice St., Lihue.  For information on the parade, call (808) 639-3571.
