Hanalei Canoe Club’s Annual Luau

Hanalei Canoe Club’s Annual Luau. The Canoe Club’s final fundraising event of the paddling season, featuring traditional Hawaiian fare and Hula dancing, local music, fire dancers and a silent auction. Proceeds allow local youth paddlers to attend the Hawaiian State Outrigger Paddling Championships without cost to them. Hanalei Canoe Club’s clubhouse near Hanalei Pier, on the Hanalei River. 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. $40 for adults, $15 ages 12 and under. Hula Kahiko Performance by Kumu Hula Bobo Palacat with Hula Halau Na Pua Ha`aheao `o Kona. Hula halau from across Hawai`i and beyond have been invited to perform in a one-of-a-kind outdoor setting at the kahua hula (platform) in the Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park, located just a short walking distance from the Volcano Art Gallery in an area known as Ka`auea. 10:30 a.m. Audience members are encouraged to bring sun/rain gear and sitting mat.
