Filipino Fiesta & Flores de Mayo Festival Week. Celebrate this weeklong celebration highlighting the wondrous and colorful culture of the Philippines. Called Flores de Mayo, the festival brings to Hawai`i the joy and celebrations of the month of May and the traditional fiesta time in the Philippines. Waikiki Spam Jam. Join this exciting annual street festival that celebrates locals’ extraordinary love affair with SPAM® in Hawai`i and features a variety of Honolulu’s finest restaurants serving up SPAM®-inspired creations, entertainment and even a “Mr. or Mrs. SPAM®” contest. This street festival is great for all ages, as the event includes two stages with free entertainment, and a variety of Hawaiian crafters. Bank of Hawai`i presents Hawai`i Book & Music Festival. A family-friendly event, festival-goers will enjoy two days packed with readings by and discussions with local, national and internationally known authors; performances by musicians, storytellers, actors and dancers; and ongoing entertainment for the kids, including the return of Mr. Steve, national host of PBS Kids. There also are book-sellers and publisher booths, the Bank of Hawai`i Book Swap, and an international, open-air food court. Frank F.
