Lei Making Workshop – Kalama Beach Park. Learn Hawaiian lei-making methods (hili, haku, wili, kipuu, kui and humupapa). Bring your supplies (flowers with three inch stems, greenery such as fern, ti leaf, lacy panax; raffia, scissors or snippers, buttons/carpet thread, sewing needle, lei needle, spray bottle filled with water, container to hold your plant material). Basic flowers and greenery will be provided. Open to all ages; an adult must accompany a child who is younger than 11 years. Kalama Beach Park, 248 N. Annual Scottish Highland Games

Annual Scottish Highland Games. Celebrate the heritage and history of the Scots. Enjoy traditional Highland games and athletics, men’s and women’s competition prizes (learn about the history of the athletic events); Highland Dance competition; entertainment including piping, music, song and dance; and demonstrations of swordplay, weaving, and fencing. Vendors feature Scottish wear, Celtic clothing, jewelry, musical instruments, housewares, etc. Food vendors will be offering traditional Scottish fare.
