Waikiki Artfest. Featuring approximately 75-100 fine artists and handcraft artisans who display their own art for sale including jewelry of all types, clothing, wood products, stained glass, ceramics, soaps and candles, bags, quilts, and lauhala products. Enjoy live entertainment, as well as great food. Kapiolani Park, at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, across from the Honolulu Zoo. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free. Jake Shimabukuro. Renowned for his super-fast and complex finger work, ‘ukulele wizard Jake Shimabukuro has redefined the meaning of music that comes from that instrument. Though Jake is versatile with all the Hawaiian standards, he is constantly expanding his repertoire to combine elements of jazz, blues, funk, rock, bluegrass, classical, folk, and flamenco. Jake is now a world-wide phenomenon: he’s been declared a musical “hero” by Rolling Stone, has collaborated with and won accolades from diverse stars in the music world, wowed audiences on world tours and TV, and has even played for the Queen of England.
