Panaewa Stampede Rodeo

Friday & Saturday, February 14 & 15:
Panaewa Stampede Rodeo. This large and diverse rodeo features Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bronc Riding and Bull Riding, Double Mugging and Pu`u Wai U, just like in the early ‘Paniolo’ days of old Hawai`i. Keiki will compete with their family members on sheep in Mutton Bust ‘in, Roping, Barrel Racing and Jr. Bull Riding. Young cowgirls will compete to be the 2014 Rodeo Queen. World Whale Day and Whale Parade

World Whale Day and Whale Parade. Enjoy a free, all-day festival honoring the humpback whales that come to Maui each winter. The festivities begin at 9 a.m. with a colorful Parade of Whales down South Kihei Road, and continue until sunset at beautiful, oceanside Kalama Park. Enjoy live musical entertainment featuring top Hawai`i recording stars. There will also be hula performances, a Keiki Carnival with hands-on activities and fun bouncy rides, an array of food booths by local restaurants and food trucks, and the original “Made on Maui” artisans’ fair with unique and locally sourced crafts.
