WOW! and create a unique and innovative opportunity for our guests,” states Kelly Hoen, general manager at THE MODERN HONOLULU. “POW! WOW! is an uncommon brand, much like ourselves, and we are excited to work with them and help bring their artwork to life.”  POW! WOW! is a street artist festival that appoints young and thriving urban artists to cover building walls with inspiring and thought provoking imagery relevant to the destination. POW! is the impact that art has on a person and WOW! is the reaction that art has on a viewer. Together the term POW! WOW! describes a gathering that celebrates culture, music, and art. The street art displayed at POW! WOW! consists of murals, wall art, graffiti, and much more. “This year we’re doing more installations and studio work, not just street art,” says Wong. “We have an artist named Fafi, coming from Paris, France, who is doing a flower installation on Auahi Street. Hottea, an artist from the Midwest, is doing a yarn and string piece that will be an incredible optical illusion as well as Olek is crocheting a canoe on the lawn of the Honolulu Museum of Art.”
