Arise – A Music & Film Benefit

Arise – A Music & Film Benefit. This event begins in the courtyard at 3:30 p.m. with mental health wellness speakers, a silent auction, and free live music. At 7 p.m. in Castle Theater, enjoy the beautiful Hawaiian music of Keola Beamer and Kumu Hula Moanalani Beamer in concert, followed by the world premiere screening of “The Quietest Place on Earth” directed by Tom Vendetti. This beautiful film explores the unique properties of Haleakala Crater – “a place where silence echoes silence”. There will be a presentation by Gordon Hempton, the sound tracker who found ‘the quietest place on Earth’. Traditional Hawaiian music and hula with renowned musicians Bobby Moderow, Jr. (leader of the multiple Na Hoku winning group, Maunalua), Aaron Mahi (former Band Master for the Royal Hawaiian Band), George Kuo (renowned slack key guitar master), and Stephen Akana (Ambassador of Aloha from Papakolea) .
