Chinese Moon Festival. Get a taste of a traditional Chinese Moon Festivalduring the first full moon of harvest season. Enjoy ethnic foods and cooking demos, a Chinese ribbon dance with live music played on traditional instruments, cultural arts demonstrations and children’s crafts. The list of celebrities is unprecedented for a first year convention: Well known stars from Stargate, Atlantis, Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Game of Thrones, and many more. Solo Competitions & Group Competitions, respectively. Featuring award-winning hālau from Hawai’i and the Mainland, performing in solo and group performances. The dancers compete in kahiko (traditional hula) and ‘auana (modern-day hula stylings) in both male and female categories, judged by renowned kumu hula.
