Na Hula Festival. Hula is more than just a dance form. Hula directs your beliefs, traditions and values. Hula conducts your behavior and shapes who you become. A dancer breathes, eats, and sleeps hula. Bring your hali`i (covering, spread), mea ‘ai (food) and enjoy a beautiful, relaxing day of hula at the park. Admission is free. Slack Key Guitar Concerts

Slack Key Guitar Concerts. Traditional Hawaiian slack key guitar and `ukulele concerts. August 3 – Kaua`i Slack Key Guitar & Ukulele Concert; August 10 – Hawai`i’s Cowboy Music; August 17 – Circle of Life; August 24 – Gifts of the Ancestors; August 31 – Poina `ole – Never to be forgotten. Tickets: $20 ($15 keiki/seniors). The concerts are nahenahe – soft and sweet.  Slack key guitar and `ukulele in the real old style.  All traditional music with songs and stories of the islands, telling the history of this Hawaiian musical art form. Voted 2014 Best Live Show in Hawai`i by Hawai`i Magazine Readers’ Choice Awards. A portion of the proceeds supports the Hale Halawai `Ohana `O Hanalei.
