Join HILT Acquisitions Specialist Janet Britt and Fred Cachola for a fascinating discussion about the North Kohala coast and King Kamehameha’s history there. Fred Cachola is a long time Hawaiian rights advocate and protector of cultural and historical places. The hike and discussion will focus on Mahukona, other iconic places along the Kohala coast and traditional place names. Open Cockpit Day. Climb into the cockpit of an historic aircraft, talk story with pilots, and snap a photograph with an aviator in period attire. Activities for the whole family take place throughout the Museum. Bring your camera. Flight suits, helmets, and fun provided. Free with Museum admission and free to Museum Members.
