Chinese Kite Festival

Chinese Kite Festival. Celebrate the wonderful world of kites at the Wo Hing Museum on Front Street in Lahaina. Enjoy a colorful exhibit of one-of-a-kind, handmade kites. Starting at 1 p.m., view a PowerPoint presentation on the significance and history of kites in China. Participate in hands- on workshops to make your own kite, or purchase one of the many kites that will be for sale. Chinese music and entertain- ment daily, as well as Chinese food to purchase. Annual Hanapepe Orchid & Art Festival

Annual Hanapepe Orchid & Art Festival.  Storybook Theatre will be taking part in the annual Orchid & Art Festival in April. Stop by to help raise funds for continued programming. Kauai Orchid and Art Festival

Friday & Saturday, April 11 & 12: 
Kauai Orchid and Art Festival.  Plein air painters set up around the town, so there are artists outside painting throughout the weekend. On Saturday, there will be a stage show with Taiko drumming, a crowing contest for kids of all ages, and a concert featuring a variety of slack key musicians. The crowning point of the event is a free concert from Makana. Enjoy several art workshops, including watercolor painting, as well as children’s art activities and other events for keiki. There’s a craft fair and silent auction at the church next to the stage. Food vendors set up throughout the town, and shops and galleries are open on Saturday as well.
