MCBH Swamp Romp 2014

MCBH Swamp Romp 2014.  The dirtiest race of the year is back at MCB Hawai`i and better than ever! This year participants may register as an individual or as a team of 4 to 6 members. An exciting obstacle run through the mud and dirt aboard Marine Corps Base Hawai`i Kaneohe Bay. This unique run takes teams through the Nu`upia ponds and down the Fort Hase beach, over and under obstacles that challenge the strongest of competitors. The event is open to the public. Hilo Chinese New Year Festival

Saturday, February 8:  Hilo Chinese New Year Festival – the Year of the Horse. Chinese lion dancers will roam the town, chasing evil spirits with firecrackers and blessing businesses from 9 a.m. to10 a.m. Festival is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with more lion dancing, martial arts and calligraphy demonstrations, crafts, food booths, a keiki (child) fashion show, and food tastings prepared by culinary arts students.
