Hula Arts at Kilauea

Saturday, December 21: 
Hula Arts at Kilauea.  This VAC program features Halau Ha`a Kea `O Kinohi under the direction of kumu hula Paul Neves. This inspired outdoor presentation takes place rain or shine at the hula platform located near VAC Gallery in Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  The audience is encouraged to bring sitting mat and sun/rain gear. Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade

Saturday, December 21: 
Waimea Lighted Christmas Parade.  Parade starts at 6:15 p.m. Before the parade, spend the day in Waimea. Visit parks, beaches and hiking trails; browse through Waimea’s shops, eat dinner and stay for the entertainment following the parade at Hofgaard Park, with free beverages, baked goods and treats provided by local businesses. Free.  The parade begins at Waimea Canyon Park, goes down Kaumuali`i Hwy to Ala Wai Road, then turns mauka (towards the mountains) to Waimea Road, then back west to end at Hofgaard Park in the center of town. Parking is easier on the Kekaha side of town, so arrive early (by 4 p.m. is recommended).
