36th Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival

Saturday, July 20:  36th Annual Prince Lot Hula Festival.  The largest non-competitive hula event in Hawaii, and features hula kahiko (ancient) hula and chant, and auana (modern) hula performances. Local food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Hula Arts at Kilauea

Hula Arts at Kilauea.  Na Mea Hawai`i Hula Kahiko Performance presents Halau Waiau under the direction of na kumu hula Keikilani Curnan and Liana Aviero. This inspired outdoor presentation takes place rain or shine at the hula platform located near VAC Gallery in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The audience is encouraged to bring sitting mat and sun/rain gear. On the same day, there is a hands-on cultural demonstration from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at VAC Gallery porch.
