Na Kamehameha Commemorative Pa`u Parade & Ho`olaulea.  Honoring the memory of the Kamehameha lineage. King Kamehameha Day Parade and Celebration.  Fabulous Floral Parade event with traditional Pa`u riders representing each island and Hawaiian organizations in full regalia. `O Ke Kai Series at Outrigger Reef on the Beach.  The `O Ke Kai Series supports the continuing efforts of the friends of Hokulea and Hawai`iloa to ensure the traditional Hawaiian canoe building and restoration skills are passed on to future generations.  The Hawai`iloa canoe was pulled from the water due to damage from termites and exposure to the elements and is currently housed in pieces. Hula Arts at Kilauea.  This VAC program features a Hula Kahiko Informance with kumu Leilehua Yuen and Manu Josiah, and is a 50-minute narrated demonstration of preparation, protocol and offering of traditional hula and chant. This inspired outdoor presentation takes place rain or shine at the hula platform located near VAC Gallery in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The audience is encouraged to bring sitting mat and sun/rain gear. On the same day, there is a hands-on cultural demonstration from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at VAC Gallery porch.
