3rd Annual World Peace Festival

Saturday, October 6: 
3rd Annual World Peace Festival.  In ancient Hawaiian times, Moku Ola, also known as Coconut Island, was a place of healing as well as a place of refuge, and serves well for the setting of the World Peace Festival.  Free performances and keiki activities alongside arts, crafts and international food booths bring the community together to celebrate over a century of peaceful multicultural coexistence on Hawaii Island.  Coconut Island, Hilo.  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday & Sunday, October 6 & 7: 
The Coconut Festival.  A two day cultural festival that offers Polynesian and coconut themed entertainment, cultural and historical exhibits and demonstrations, food, crafts, games, contests, hands-on cultural activities and cooking demonstrations.  Kapa`a Beach Park, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.  Donation at the gate.  For information call (808) 651-3273.

Maui Swap Meet.  Maui’s largest flea market is a great place to shop for unique, home-made, handcrafted, quality products at reasonable prices.  University of Hawaii – Maui College, 310 Kaahumanu Ave, Kahului.  7:00 a.m. to 1:00.  Cost is 50 cents; free after 12:30 p.m.
