Malie Foundation: Hula Competition Solo/Group Kahiko Nei.  This event demonstrates a creative and unique idea in hula in the ancient style (kahiko) with a slight twist of Kaua’i flavor. Newer chants are encouraged by judges. Chants that are 10 years old or less get five bonus points. Three bonus points are given to chants 20 years or younger. 42nd Annual Maui Marathon

42nd Annual Maui Marathon.  Recognized as one of the most scenic courses in world with its point-to-point route starting in Kahului, for over 17 breathtaking miles, passing through Lahaina before finishing near The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, race headquarters, in Whalers Village.  The popular Maui Half Marathon features a flat, out-and-back course that traces the final 6.55 miles of the marathon course. Kokua Kailua Hulihe’e Palace Concert Series & Village Stroll.  One Sunday each month from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Ali’i Drive along scenic Kailua Bay in Kailua-Kona becomes a festive pedestrian-only walkway. Enjoy music, artists, merchants and restaurants. At 4:00 p.m., there is a free Hawaiian music concert on the lawn at Hulihe’e Palace.
