2012 Cycle to the Sun

Saturday, August 25: 
2012 Cycle to the Sun.  Cyclists from around the world compete in a legendary 36 mile uphill race on Maui from beachside Paia to the 10,000 foot summit of Haleakala.  The race, often described as the planet’s longest, steepest race course, starts at 6:30 a.m. Riders can register individually or as a three person relay team. Entry fee is $200 for individual race, or $300 for three person relay team. $25 late fee for entries after August 6. John Cruz in Concert.  One of Hawaii’s most popular and accomplished performers of Hawaiian music, John Cruz concerts are always a sell out around the Islands. Moonlight and Music in the Garden

Moonlight and Music in the Garden.  The National Tropical Botanical Garden presents its 5th  Annual fundraising event at the McBryde Garden located on Kauai’s south shore. Entertainment provided by “The Blond Boys.” 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. $150 per person for unreserved seating and reserved tables are available. Taste of Life

Taste of Life.  This annual event helps raise money to provide services to those on Hawaii Island affected by HIV/AIDS. It’s a serious purpose, but the Taste of Life is a fun three-hour party with food catered by the Island’s top restaurants, plus live music and dancing, silent auction and more.
