kauai’s Big Brother’s Big Sister’s 3rd Annual “Totally Awesome 80’s”

Big Brother’s Big Sister’s 3rd Annual “Totally Awesome 80’s”.  Bowl For Kid’s Sake (BFKS) has become an important annual fundraiser for Kauai Big Brothers Big Sisters. In 2011, this event raised over $21,000 to support one-to-one yout mentoring programs. Entertainment, food from Mark’s Place/ Contemporary Flavors Catering, Signature  “Totally Awesome 80’s” T-shirts, Bowling, Prize Drawing and fun for the community! Jake Shimabukuro.  Jake is renowned the world over for lightning-fast fingers and revolutionary playing techniques on Hawai‘i’s signature instrument, the ‘ukulele. Shimabukuro’s shows with his band dazzle audiences with intricate strumming and plucking, electrifying high-energy grooves and deeply felt melodic ballads. He’s on a mission: to show everyone that the ‘ukulele is capable of so much more than traditional Hawaiian music.
