CAKE. An American alternative rock band from Sacramento, California, CAKE is comprised of lead singer John McCrea, trumpeter Vince DiFiore, guitarist Xan McCurdy, bassist Gabe Nelson and drummer Paulo Baldi. The band is noted for McCrea’s sarcastic lyrics and deadpan voice, DiFiore’s trumpet parts and a wide range of musical influences, including country, rock, funk, mariachi, Iranian folk and hip-hop.
